Operation Impromptu Training Day and Mini Skirmish - 27th September 2009 First and Only, Matlock Hi all I'm arranging a bit of a training day and mini skirmish to replace the Jedburgh event we were planning. NOTE: This is an event that I'm organising and it is not an official CiA event. The long and short of it is that a very committed chap booked a flight from Germany to attend Jedburgh which he cannot cancel so it would be good to introduce him to WW2 battle reenactment in the UK in a good way!! I'm going to be speaking to people about providing training for specialist roles and we can practice some set scenarios, followed by an afternoon scenario to put all the training into full practice. If you're interested in coming you can either pay up front to me via paypal or cheque, or you can pay on the day. The generous chaps at F&O have also said that we can camp at the site on the evening of 26th September, but the landowner will charge Â£5 per person for this. We don't usually need an excuse for a social, but this site has the added benefit of being a regular dogging site for the good people of the peaks. Was thinking of brinking a BBQ a few big tabels some bentches and a parachute to stand under for saturday night...what do you think.

I can bring a big tarp and some long lengths of 4x2 to make a large shelter if thats any better

I have a 12x12 shelter with polls ...just thought parachute would look sexy i'll bring both :good:

Speaking of that, does anyone have a pair of size 9.5-10 (ie EU 44) German boots he can borrow?

I've got a pair of jackboots in that size he's welcome to use. A bit squeaky but nice boots.

i have a pair of size 10 jackboot....i'll bring them along plus plenty of goodies to BBQ and CD player

Don't worry about the CD player, I've got my vintage radio with my iPod in and plenty of old tunes, including Helga's German ones!!-- attachment is not available --

Hi folks

A couple of last minute drop-outs (Carly has been wounded in the line of duty.......ironing duty!) and the Germans outnumber the Allies quite a bit.

Nevermind! A training day doesn't need even sides!

I'll be at Matlock from about 3pm onwards. See you all there!!

PS: The weather's looking very good indeed, but it will be chilly at night, so bring warm clothes if you're camping it up! It'll be much more comfortable to watch the doggers that way.
